Chewing Gum Is Bad For You
I have heard that chewing gum (with you jaw) is bad for you! Reason is because when you chew gum your stomach thinks that your eating. So your stomach automatically (sorry don't know how to spell) opens. So while your chewing your stomach is open thinking that something is going drop into it. Which can cause pain in the stomach area. So is this true?

I don't think so. I have heard chewing gum does a lot of good things...
Promotes saliva to clean teeth, freshens breath, stops you from smoking? strenghens jaw muscles, fills the void of eating when you are not hungry, tastes good, entertains you blowing bubbles, etc...

I'm good on GUM, I like fruit flavored Chicklets:D

No, it's not true. Your stomach doesn't open and close. (Here's another old wives' tale: Swallow a watermelon seed and a watermelon will grow inside your body.)

Chewing gum is actually good for you. Sugarless gum cleans the teeth and sweetens the breath. Scientists are finding that chewing any kind of gum improves intelligence.

I've heard all the stuff dahlia mentioned. And I've never gotten a stomach ache from chewing gum. So I think that's a myth. I have heard of a psychological thing that can happen, about if you chew gum your body thinks it's getting food and you'll stop feeling hungry for a little while. I've chewed gum before when I wasn't able to eat right then but was hungry. It helped. But who knows if its really true or just the power of suggestion.

Probably the sugary bubble gum is bad for your teeth. But I don't see anything wrong with the sugar free stuff

    Wondergirl,
Chewing gum improves intelligence? Hm. I think I should definitely put some gum in my back pack for during class. Maybe it'll help me bring my grade up! :)

You'll lose points if you chew with your mouth open, and if you snap your gum, the teacher will make you spit it out and then you will get a bad grade. Be very careful.

Mint is for math. Cinnamon is for stats.

It's rhyming and mnemonic (not demonic). Any red gum is for reading. Cinnamon - stats. Mint - math. Strawberry - psychology. Get it? Let us know how it works for you.

I didn't even know there was such as class as Vocational Mechanics. I'm not that kind of smart, so I don't deal with those classes.

But just FYI, there is NO gum in music classes. :)

    Mystery gum - music

A clever student learns how to roll the wad of gum inside his cheek and into a secret place that all dentists know how to create between two teeth. The gum sits there until it is needed.

Yes that's true, but if they're caught they have to lose it.
It can distract a musician from the rhythm.
