I am building an addition on my house 16ft long by 21 ft wide with a 2nd floor what size lvl do I use for the ridge board when insalling the roof and how many do I need I want rooms to be wide open no inner walls

I am hoping some of my other experts will stop by and comment because I have never seen a LVL used for a ridge board, there is no load on the ridge. Will you be pulling a permit? Ask your inspector what he will approve, it likely will not be a LVL
