I arranged for my girlfriend to come over my house yesterday afternoon and my boyfriend placed a digital voice recorder in my home without my knowledge or consent. I do not have physical proof, I only have statements he quoted verbaitem from my conversation with my girlfriend, and when I asked why he hid a voice recorder in my house, he would not answer my question. I only want to know if this is legal in the state of Nevada, especially knowing that my "right about now, EX boyfriend" is a law enforcement Officer and abused his power to listen to my conversation with my friend while he was not present!

I'm certain it's NOT legal, but I cannot find out which particular federal law and/or state law he violated. Plus, without physical evidence, you're not going to get anywhere. So, if there's a bug in your house, you have to find it before you proceed. There are experts you can hire that'll do that for you.

First he did not abuse his power as a police officer unless he placed it there as part of his duty, broke in perhaps, did a unauthorised search for police reasons.

He did this off duty as a boyfriend ( if he did it at all) perhaps the girl friend told him you don't know for sure.

If you think the house is bugged, you can get that checked by a professional.
