Converting from one switch to two
Hi! We are trying to install a fan that has two switches that need to be connected to a single switch on the wall. (Our old fan only had one switch on the wall, and the new one has a slider switch for the fan and one for the light) Can we do this without running any more wires?

    Thank you for your time.

You can't. That new switch is designed to run power to the light and the fan on separate wires which you do not have. Your best bet would be to look into a universal remote if your fan will accept one.

Please tell me what wires you have in the wall, and at the fan. It MAY be possible. Probably not.

What make is the new fan and switch? And the old fan and switch?
