Cam and Crank position sensors on an Infiniti
My Dad has a 2004 Infiniti I35. The check engine light just started coming on recently. He is a car fanatic, always has been, anyway he's freaking out now. My neighbor works for Nissan and he brought home the diagnostic machine and hooked it up. He says it needs (2) cam position sensors and (1) crank position sensor. I called Infiniti and Nissan for my Dad to get a price on these parts, because my nighbor said he'll put them in for him. Labor in the dealership is $103 per hr. The price of these parts are $126.00 each. Holy SH*#!! My father is on social security he can't afford those prices. Can I get aftermarket parts at AutoZone or Checker? Their so much cheaper then at the dealership. Will they be the same as Nissan parts? Or should we stick with the original parts and go broke?

Try RockAuto.com--Standard Motor Product's parts are often OEM for a fraction of the price. Standard Motor Products just markets them in their own box. The Camshaft Position Sensor, Angled Head (PC461), is $58.79; the Crankshaft Position Sensor (PC50) is $76.79.

AutoZone's or Checker's parts should be fine, if you prefer to go that route.
