    You can't patent an idea. You can only patent a device. So, your first step is to build it.

    First its not a good idea to piggyback your question on someone else's. This can lead to confusion. You should start a new thread. So I've moved your question to its own thread.

    Actually you can patent an idea in the form of a process. For example Amazon patented their "one-click" checkout process.

    But you certainly need to be able to show the process or device works before obtaining a patent.
