Dark Brown to natural blonde without dying
I dyed my hair dark brown about 3months ago, it still hasn't faded and I want it my natural light blonde, without dying it. I've heard about people using clarifying shampoos and L'Oreal Colour Zap and things like that, but I don't want it going brassy, or yellow or anything like that. I want it natural. As if all the dye has completely vanished. How can this be done? Please help. Thank you (:

If your hair was natural light blonde, the peroxide in the dark brown dye (yes, there was peroxide in there) has lightened and yellowed the natural pigment. The natural pigment is now probably yellow.

Color Zap is actually a bleach.

Clarifying shampoos will help fade the artificial pigment, but after three months, most fading has already occurred. ColorFix and Color Oops are color removers that will attempt to dissolve the artificial pigment in your hair so you can wash it out. Color Zap and Effasol will try to bleach it out. Both approaches work but the bleaches are harder on the hair.

After using color removers of any type, your hair will be an artificial yellow or orange color. You may still have to bleach a little bit to get the base uniform or light enough (there may still be some artificial pigment in there). Finally, you will have to dye it the natural light blonde color that you desire.

    Good luck.
