Can anyone help me with security system problems?

Hello everyone!

I installed a PC5010 security system with 2 led 5508z keypads, and 4 motion detectors (zone 1-4). I closed zones 5-8 with 4 jumpers. That's it. Nothing else on the system.

Upon power up I have trouble light lit and lights 1,3,and 6 lit.

When I press *8 it will only let me press 3-5's to go to programming mode. It beeps a long beep on the 4th 5 and goes back to above.

When I press *2 to find the trouble conditions, I get the trouble light flashing and lights 1,4,5 and 8 light up.

I have read the manual but can't figure it out.

Any ideas for me.

Zones 1, 3 and 6 are violated, a little strange as 5-8 are jumpered out. In Location 001 it should be programmed as 0404040400000000, which is 2 digits for each zone, Motions are 04, nothing is 00.
To go into Programming Mode it should be:
*8 C O D E, Code should be 4 numbers, not 3.
Why are you pressing 3 5's?
*2 Displays Troubles, 1,4,5,and 8.

Light Trouble 1:
Service Required: Press [1]again to determine the specific trouble. If one of the following zone lights is on,
The corresponding trouble is present:
• Light [1] – Low Battery: Main panel backup battery charge is low (below 11.5 volts under
Load).Trouble is restored when the battery charges over 12.5 volts.
• Light [2] – Bell Circuit Trouble: The bell circuit is open (see Section 5.13 “Siren”).
• Light [3] – General System Trouble: The printer connected to the PC5400 Printer module has a fault
And is off-line. There are also 5204 AUX Trouble, 5204 Output 1 Trouble, Camera Trouble and Home
Automation Trouble.
• Light [4] – General System Tamper: Tamper has been detected in a module. Entering and exiting
Installer's Programming will not reset the system tampers. All tamper conditions must be physically
Restored.
• Light [5] – General System Supervisory: The panel has lost communication with a module
Connected to the Keybus (see Section 2.6 “Supervision”). The event buffer will log the event.
• Lights [6] – Not used
• Light [7] – PC5204 Low Battery: The PC5204 module has a low backup battery.
• Light [8] - PC5204 AC Failure: The PC5204 module has lost AC power

Light 4: Is a Failure to Communicate, Communications need to be Disabled, If Local(Not Monitored).

Light 5:
Zone Fault (including Fire Zone): A zone on the system is experiencing trouble, meaning that a zone
Could not provide an alarm to the panel if required to do so (if a fire zone is open, or there is a short on
A DEOL zone, or a supervisory fault on a wireless zone). When a zone fault trouble condition occurs,
The keypad(s) on the system will start to beep. Press [5] while in Trouble mode to view the affected zones.
A Fire zone trouble will be generated and displayed in the armed state. A Fire zone trouble will
Also restart the trouble beeps from all keypads.

And Light 8 means Clock needs to be reset.
Must of lost power or not programmed.

After Hitting *2, since light 1 is lit, you need to hit 1 again to get the particular problem for trouble 1.
No Entry Zone?
I would reset Panel to Default Data, start from scratch, Did you enroll Keypads?
An Alpha Keypad Make Programming a lot easier, With the Icon and LED Keypad, it is easy to make mistakes. I would get 1 or Borrow 1, You can give zones custom names (Kids Motion), and also has a 128 Event Buffer that allows you to view the last 128 EventsAlarms, Arming, Disarming and the Time it occurred, if Maid has her own code, you know when she/he armed disarmed system.
For your Communication problem, I would go to Location 015, Position 7 and Turn off Telephone Line Monitor. And
Location 380, Position 1, Disable Communications.
Since you said Jumpers and Not EOL's, you need to program Zones as Normally closed loops. Location 013, position 1. (No end of line resistors.)

Just off the grid for 2 weeks while on call. Bloody thing didn't start working on it's own.

I tried your suggestions this AM. It seems the biggest problem is I cannot get into programing mode. Default for a new systems is *8 + 5555. I can only enter 555. The fourth 5 gives a long beep and goes back to trouble light and lights 1,3,6. Therefore I cannot go any further or set anything up.

Maybe circuit board is faulty? It's brand new, but who knows?

What do you think?

Do you have the Manual? 5010 is for 5010,
5555 is for 1832.

I do have the manual. THe covers call it a PC5010 CP-01 and below that it says POWER 832.

This AM I noticed something else. I press *8, then 5555 or 5010 and the last digit doesn't enter. But I run to the other keypad and it shows program mode lit up. Nothing else but program. The "program lit "keypad is dead and does not respond to commands or even beep when I press a button.

The original keypad accepts commands and beeps, but does not do anything. It always goes back to lights 1,3,and 6 lit up.

I also went and checked the circuit board. It clearly has a PC5010 sticker on it.

Do those lights light immediately or after *2?
Have you tried setting to Default?
What lights when you press *2?
Verify Keypad wiring at Panel and Keypad, Don't connect anything to The Z terminal on Keypad.
Do you have a resistor on Siren Output?

good morning,
This AM I decided to divide and conquer. I disconnected 1 keypad so now there is only 1 keypad.
Now we have 4 motions, 2 sirens and 1 keypad. That's it.

Lights 1,3 and 6 and trouble lights are lit. When I press *8 all lights go out and it waits for security code. I then press 4-5's but on the fourth 5 it gives a long beep and it goes back to lights 1,3 and 6. Fifteen seconds later the trouble light also comes on.

After pressing *2, I get lights 1,4,5 and 8.

There is nothing connected to z on keypad.

How do I set back to default? It seems I need to enter programming to make some lights go out, but I am not able to enter programming. Perhaps I need to set to default?

To reset Panel to Default:
Remove Battery and AC.
Connect a jumper wire Between Zone 1 and
PGM 1 Terminals in the Panel.(Remove any wires on these terminals)
Power up Panel With AC ONLY for a good 10 Seconds
Power down control Panel.(Remove AC)
Remove Jumper.
Connect AC and Battery.
At this point if *85010 works, it is a 5010, if 5555, then its an 1832.

The 1,4,5, and 8 are your Troubles seen after the *2.
After *2, since 1 is lit, press 1 again to give detail of the #1 Trouble in my first post.
A 4 is system Tamper, likely siren resistor. Disconnect Siren and use resistor only at panel.
A 5 is Likely a Keypad has been removed or added and have not gone through a 902 and 903. Enable Supervision, Keypad assignment.
The 8 Is a loss of Power and Clock, needs to be set.
LED Programming can be tough. An Alpha Keypad makes programming a cinch.

Are you ready? SUCCESS! Yea, I said SUCCESS!

I had the opportunity to try your last instructions and it all worked. I defaulted the panel and then started over. There was a whole new set of lights lit up so I decided to program and it accepted 5555. Then I went to work programming. I went into section 001, 013,015,380 and set the time and date. After that no lights except the armed light and then I changed the master code. It all works beautifully. I tested the system and it works perfectly.

I cannot figure out how to reset the installer's code and maintenance codes. I start with *5, then master code, then what? I want to go to section 006 and 008 but it does not accept that? Do these really need to be changed?

Only the Installer code(*8) will allow access to 006, and 008.
I will get back, I forget 007's importance.
There is also a location to make Installer code not changeable, will have to change that value. Let me dig up the manual and get back.

You may need to program the motion at the entry, for entry delay 1.
After you get the green light(ready) you may need to violate that motion so it thinks you left.
Normally with a contact on front door, if you don't open that door after entering code, it knows you stayed and will be in stay mode(bypassing Motions).
That motion will also trigger the entry delay.
A receiver and keyfob will allow instant detection/sounding(no delay) with the motions.
There is also an Automation Board, and thermostat control.

I got it this evening. To change installer's code I pressed *8, 5555, then 006. At this point lights 1 and 3 are lit telling me the first digit of the present code is a 5. (hex data). It will not advance to the next number when I press fire/aux or panic. So I pressed 4-1's It erased the original and my new code is now 1111. I'm leaving the original maintenance code alone because I don't think it matters.

I moved into a house that has a DSC LED5508 (z) The stupid thing armed itself and proceeded to go off at 2 am on mother's day! We have no code for it or manual, and the owner says he knows nothing about it. How can we get it to stop squelching? Is there a way to bi-pass? I tried looking it up online, but I have had no luck. Pulling my hair out over here. Please help.

The owner could disconnect the AC Transformer and the Battery connections inside the Panel.
