I have good cold water pressure but very poor hot water pressure in my entire house any body have any ideas ?

The bladder tank for my well, won't fill up with water.

Is there a shutoff valve before or after the WH that is partially closed? Maybe something is partially blocking one of the heat traps in the water heater (if so equipped). Did this happen recently, like after someone did some work on the plumbing in the house?

Is there good pressure at the water heater drain valve? If so, that means the problem as after the heater. If not, and the water is clear and clean, the problem is on the cold side of the WH.

Just some guesses, there wasn't much information in your post to do more than that.

Rudy please start you own post by clicking on ASK. Canman check your water heater, does it have full pressure out of the drain spigot? Now test for full flow out the exiting pipe on top. I suspect a clogged heat trap or nipple.

First of all the I replaced the water heater 6 years ago, the problem started about started about 6 months ago and has gotten worse. The only galvanized I have is the nipple coming out of the WH. What I have done so far is drain the WH, pulled the hot water line off the WH and replaced the nipple, I'm not quite sure how to test the pressure coming out of the top of the WH? But I do hear a sound coming from the pipes at the top of the WH when only the hot water is on. Where is the heat trap and how do I check it ? Thanks for your respone.

That nipple that you replaced, did it have some kind of plastic insert in it? If so, that was a heat trap. Usually both the hot and cold ports have heat traps in them. The only difference between the two is the flow direction.

Since you replaced the hot (out) nipple, then do my test of the pressure at the drain valve. See my first post. If you have good pressure there, it is somewhere downstream of the water heater. If the pressure is bad at the drain valve -and the water is clear and clean- then it could be the cold (inlet) heat trap. Or something else. Please, if you remove the heat traps, do yourself a favor ($) and replace them with new heat traps, not just galvanized nipples.

I am not going to speculate on any other source of problem. Do the checks I recommended first, then we can go farther.

It never hurts to unscrew the aerator/screens from your faucets, and remove the debris that gathers in them, especially after making a change in the plumbing system. Unscrew the shower head, and remove the debris blocking the holes in the shower head as well.
