I have a Whirlpool electric cloths dryer that will not heat but will keep running and not shut auto. Heater or thermostat problem ?

Could be the thermostat, an inline fuseable link or it may only be getting 120 volts. Start by confirming that you are getting 240 volts out of the receptacle.
