    Perito

    1. Pretend that the ">" or "<" or other inequality sign is an equals sign.
    2. Draw the line or curve of interest.
    3. Pick a point on one side of the line and enter it into the equation of the line or curve. Does that point fulfill the inequality. If it does, then everything on that side of the line should be marked as belonging to the inequality. If it does not, then everything on the other side of the line should belong to the inequality.
    4. If the sign is or then the inequality includes the line.

    As an example,

Pretend it is . This is simply the equation of a line through the origin with a slope of -1. Draw the line.

Now pick a point above the line, say (1,0). Enter it into the inequaltiy

This is TRUE because 0 is greater than -1. Therefore, that point is involved in the inequality. Highlight everything on that side of the line. Don't include the line because it is a ">" symbol in the inequality.
