Ex husband wanting to relinquish his parental rights
My exhusband adopted my two children when we were married. Now that we are divorced he says he has spoken to an attorney and is going to relinquish his rights so that he no longer is financially responsible for them. I also have a child with him and he has not paid any support since our split for this child either. I don't want to get into any arguments with him, but is he able to just sign his rights away to these other two children? Would a judge allow that? Any info would be helpful

He is bluffing. He can't just sign away his rights. That is why lawyers have to be involved with adoptions because they are final and obviously can't be just waived off with a flick of the wrist. Get your own lawyer and go after him for the support payments. Unless of course you don't have a support order then you will need to get into court and get one before he owes you anything.

    What Stina said.

He adopted them... there isn't no turning back. He cannot just discard them now that they are inconvenient. Get a support order for all three kids. And put the screws to him for even suggesting it.

He is lying. He hasn't spoken to a lawyer or is lying about what the lawyer has said.
