I was recently let go from a corporation that I worked at for almost 3 years. Aproximatly 2 months ago I was approached by my district manager, and general manager. Before this meeting I had asked to transfer to a restaurant that was closer to my home. During this meeting I was told that I could not transfer because my performance was not up to par. When I asked where this was coming from since I have never heard any complaints about my performance. He told me that I had the schedule taken away from me, when I had said that my supervisor had told me that the schedule was being transferred to another manager so that the other manager could learn the system. I was told that as a seasoned manager I should have known what that meant. I was shocked to hear all of this. I was told that I could either give my 2 weeks notice now or that I could have 30 days to prove myself. I opted for the 30 day trial period. I also called my supervisor after the fact and spoke with her about what had happened. She told me that she had no idea that he was going to take the conversation this far and did not see why it went this way and said that no the schedule wasn't taken from me because of the performance, yet to teach another employee. I also had conversations with my supervisor every 2 to 3 weeks and got the same answer each time" I think that everything is going fine, a few minor things but doing well" each of these conversations I made sure to tape record the conversations since I was caught so off guard the last time. When I was let go I was told that I have not met the performance required of the position. I have never been written up by the company or any of my supervisors and my last performance review I received a raise and a great review.
