    Do I still submit a 30-day notice?
Hi, I'm getting ready to downsize due to a loss of income. Our lease terminates on November 30, 2009 as stated on the lease agreement, which also states that the "tenant shall vacate the Premises upon termination of the agreement, unless: I) Landlord and tenant have extended this agreement in writing or signed a new agreement..." My landlord and I have not talked about staying on longer nor have we signed anything to continue living at the house. I read this written agreement and from what is stated, I did not give notice until just last night, and my landlord is now going to prorate rent through December 8th. Is that right? I told her we were abiding by the lease agreement to be out by 11/30 by 3pm, since we have not signed anything to stay on further. I feel like now she is not sticking to our signed agreement. I understand if we were month-to-month tenants, but we have a start and end date to or lease. Please help! I really can't afford to pay for an extra week. :(

Reread and look for anything which would require you to give 30days notice of vacating. If there is nothing about giving notice then you should be able to leave 11/30 with not prorated rent.
