    Kitten trouble
    Hey guys

I know a pretty good amount of info about animals but this is not an area I'm familiar with. When I was in my animal health care class it was mostly dogs and farm animals :P

My sister just recently got a new kitten. He has been fixed, has all his shots. She got him from pet smart. So he is at least semi healthy. He is a tabby. Looks 100% tabby, unlike my tabby/siamese mix that I told everyone about a few months ago.

The kitten has a cold I think. And I've been doing research but I also know that you can Google anything and get several different answers to the same problem doing it that way so I wanted to ask you guys about it.

Kitten is sneezing. Sometimes sneezes up mucus and licks it away. Other than that seems perfectly fine. No mucus build up in his eyes. Very friendly and loving and active. Fur is a little disaray lol. Eating and pooping awesomely. He is about 4 months old.

    Thanks in advance

My soulcat, Thomas Jefferson, had that problem when I first brought him home from the local shelter. My vet told me that probably his immune system was off, having been exposed to so much at the shelter. The vet gave him an antibiotic shot, and things were fine after that.

If the cat is pooping fine and everything else seems good, give him a week or two. If this is still going on by Thanksgiving week, call or take him to the vet.

It is very common for young cats to get upper respiratory infections, which is what this sounds like. She should take him to the vet anyway - even if he is up to date on his shots, it's always a good idea to take a new pet for a once-over.
