Ask Me Help Desk - Ectopic situation

Two years ago I thought I was pregnant. I went through ultrasound, HCG test and urine test. The medical result was: not pregnant. However, the non-HCG embryo went out of the tubes, fell deep down into the abdominal cavity, the best way to describe the location of the fertilized egg is where they would normally do a Cesarean and then to the right beneath the right ovary. I never had any bleedings, pain or anything else, my periods were regular. I had some minor symptomps of a classic pregnancy. I plan MRI. My question is whether in theory it is possible to remove the embryo surgically, any info would be useful (who are the specialists etc.)

Of course it is necessary to remove the embryo surgically. That would be the only way to remove it. Do you still actually have the embryo in your abdomen? If so, why wasn't it removed when found?

Understand that an ectopic pregnancy is any pregnancy that is outside of the uterus. A tubal pregnancy is a pregnancy that is within the fallopian tubes.

I understand perfectly what it is. I do have it in the abdomen, it is still there. It has not been removed, as it has never been officially found. It is my idea to pursue and do magnet resonance, since everyone, but I am little bit afraid of all this.

I'm glad you understand what it is... many, if not most, people think that an ectopic pregnancy is ONLY in the tubes, when in fact, it means anywhere outside of the uterus.

I'm just curious, if it has "not been officially found," then how do you know for a fact that you have an ectopic? After 2 years you would most likely have a severe infection by now... that or excruciating pain.

I will try to give a straight anf honest answer. I suspect it has been attached on the outside of the uterus. I do not have any complications or any pain. This is a lovely little human being kept inside, with real emotions, reactions and even moods. It makes little moves that are not disturbing, since it is probably rather small. I wish it never goes away, but I am very concerned if I get pregnant this ectopic embryo would become squeezed, otherwise I have a big heart.:)

Unfortunately, I think you do not understand. If this happened 2 years ago, there is not a "lovely little human being kept inside." Babies develop in 9 months. Only elephants have a gestational period of 2 years. If it WERE a human, it would not be rather small after two years, but actually weigh over 20 pounds.

Is it possible that you are feeling nothing more than normal movements of the colon?

Do you really understand how exactly pregnancy works? A fetus cannot develop properly outside of the uterus. It needs the circulation of the uterus for the placenta to attach and grow. After 9 months a fetus weighs approximately 5 - 10 pounds depending upon several factors.

I'm sorry, but I really don't think, from your description, that you have an ectopic pregnancy. It's IMPOSSIBLE to carry a living fetus for 2 years.

I am definitely not feeling movements of the colon. Although I never met anyone or heard about anyone who had ectopis pregnancy I am also not ignorant, but simply trying to find out more about all this.
I know a lot about pregnancy. Even a baby in the abdomen outside the uterus may have HCG and hence develop and than be taken out, I mean born surgically. This embryo of mine did not have HCG, so how can it possibly grow. It does not, it made some growth, probably a few cm which made me very tired at the time and that was it. I also never said I have an emergency situation here. I had some symptoms of pregnancy (tender breast, some growth of my breast,. ) and this is all past tens. No baby, no nothing, just a situation,
