Okay 4 years ago me and a few of my friends was involved in an accident with this guy who was chasing our vehicle with his truck trying to kill us, well we had hired an attorney to take our case cause we were going after this guy! Well long story short guy got prison time for attempted murder on 5 victims and hit and run, stuff like that! Well we were also trying to sew for a big chunk of change all 5 of us!
Well our attorney worked the case for 2 years and nothing came up, we only went to one court hearing and that was the first one which he had postponed to another date, so actually we really never went to any hearings cause he had told us not to go that he had it all taken care of!
Well he had also made us all check into an chiropractic clinic to get us all check out and do regular secessions until we were all back in good shape! We didn't want to go but he recommended us to he said it would look better in court, so of course we did! He said that we wouldn't have to pay for anything, and not to mention I was only 16 at this time, so I was in school and just had started to work! And me going to this clinic 3-4 times a week really messed with my schooling and work a little bit!
Anyway well last year he told us there was nothing else that could be done that he's tried everything he could, that there would be no settlement cause of no insurance or something, so apparently the case was all dropped!
Okay well now the chiropractic clinic is now calling us and harassing us for money we don't have, and apparently their being told by our attorney that we did receive money from the case! And we never did, a matter of fact he didn't even want us to pay him cause apparently there was no case, and just gave us our docket!
So something's really fishy now and I'm starting to think he scammed us out of our settlement money! Is this possible, and what should I do if so? For one he's the one who made us go to the chiropractor in the first place! I seriously need help, is their anything I should or can do? Maybe like going after the attorney and sewing him?:confused:

Well you owe the doctors, hospitals and more no matter if you win or lose, unless you signed an agreement with them other wise.

If the person who hit you had no insurance, and is in prison and not working, there is no money to get, you can still sue them and win, but win what, winning means mothing if you can't collect.

The attorney thought he had a gold mine and you went for it with them. No one made you go to the doctor you all got greedy and wanted the big law suit money, I did not work out, and now you have to pay the legal debts.

So just pay the doctors and learn a lesson

There are a few problems here. And its going to take more information to get through it. Were you a passanger in the truck? Does the driver of the truck have insurance ? How is it you were able to go to the doctors without a parent signing you in ?

Apparently the only real question here is payment for your medical treatments. I'm a little curious as to how the chiropractor was willing to treat you without taking payment from you up front and now they're "harassing" you for "money you don't have." As another poster pointed out, as a minor you would need parental consent in order to be treated. And I know of no chiropractor who'll treat you without payment, whether it be on your parents' health insurance, your own health insurance or paying cash up front. Apparently the driver who chased you had no insurance, which is why your attorney dropped your case after coming to the realization that this driver had no means of paying damages. Either way, if you haven't previously paid the chiropractor for their services, then you owe that and it's got to be paid.

For one I was just an passenger, and for two so was my mother, she's going threw the same stuff as me and my other buddies! And I didn't choose to go i was made! Yea my mother signed the papers and stuff so there for, would it be her bill, or mine considering I was a miner at the time? And the reason the chiropractor worked with us without money upfront is because the attorney recommended us to him cause he had talked to him and said we were going to be getting some money in, which never ended up happening, but he's telling the chiropractor we did get a settlement! What should I do about that?

It is not uncommon for a doctor to treat someone involved in an accident and wait for a settlement before billing.

How do you know he's told the chiropractor there was a settlement.

Did the owner of the car you were in have uninsured motorist coverage? This insures the car owner in case of an accident involving an uninsured driver. If so, that coverage should have paid, at least part of, your medical bills.

But, if there was no such coverage, then its likely there was nothing for the lawyer to collect. On the other hand, if you can prove he got a settlement or at least said he did, then you can go to the local Bar Association and file a complaint against him.

Depending on what state your in most states have auto insurance coverage plans that cover injury to passengers regardless of fault. I agree with Scott as far as the claims being made about the lawyer and a settlement.

Well I just found out that the attorney has forged signatures and stolen money from clients in the past! I have a friend who's sister is a DA in Kansas and she had looked up his background for me and found this stuff out! Is it possible that he could be still doing this?

Sure its possible. And he might not have forged anything because a lot of times you sign or your guardian signs power of attorney over so they can act on your behalf for legal matters.
