Hi there
Easy, windows has software built in.
Click Start -> Run, type SNDREC32
Make sure your volume setting for playback and recording are set correctly.
If you want professional Tools try: Download Audacity 1.3.9 Beta - FileHippo.com
Please let me know of this helped.
Cheers
Grant
SNDREC is not in all versions of Windows and can only record short WAV files.
Allso just trying to record through your systems sound card is not going to give that good a reproduction.
ION makes a USB turntable that can connect to your PC and record records.
Or you can get something like this:
Xitel Precision Audio Technology
Which will work with your stereo.
Look, if you don't have money to spend on a app, SNDREC32 will be your easiest bet.
It's available in XP and Vista.
Basically you can capture the recordings then fix the begging and end of the song and select "save as -> Options, select mp3"
There you go, easy :)
I just tried finding SNDREC32 on my Vista Ultimate machine and it wasn't found. However Sound Recorder is listed in the Accessories folder. It will only save in the WMA format. Again, the quality and fidelity of recording that way is not going to be great. The Xitel device (which is not that expensive at $49.99) will produce a much better quality recording.
