    Getting back to business.
So my only long-term relationship ended with her dumping me and me feeling bummed out for ages. So much so that I haven't had a long-term relationship since. I just don't trust them (women AND long-term relationships). Prob because I thought the girl who dumped me was 'the one' (stupid, I know, but I was young and innocent. I am now older and wiser/more cynical).

How can I get back to trusting again and taking a shot on turning short relationships into long ones?

    Thanks people.

    Yours,

    Jesus O Reilly

    I wish
Be patient. Give yourself some time to heal from this break up before jumping into another relationship.

Don't even think about relationships. Just focus on doing things for yourself.

I hope your name actually is Jesus O Reilly, because I want to marry you and be Mrs Jesus O Reilly! Such a gorgeous name!

I'm sorry you've had such a bad experience, but, it's a bit like falling off a bike - you just have to get back on again. Yes, your trust has been broken - but that doesn't mean that you can't trust ALL women. Think about it - that's absurd.

Yes, you're afraid of being hurt again, but again, it's like getting on the bike again after you've fallen. You'll be a bit wobbly and a bit afraid but you'll get your confidence back after a while.

Small steps. Get back on your feet and go out and enjoy yourself. Meet people, have fun. Don't think about relationships - short or long term. Flirt a bit, laugh a lot.

Let the pain ease and let yourself grieve. Trust and another relationship will come in time.

You don't have to get back to business now. Give yourself a break.
