    Car water pump
How long does a car water pump last.

It really varies, depending upon the vehicle. Most Honda water pumps will last until the timing belt needs changing, which will be 90,000 to 105,000 miles. However, I replaced the water pump in my 2000 Taurus DOHC engine at 85,000 miles.

One of the keys to long water pump life is to use a 50/50 mixture of automaker-recommend antifreeze and distilled water, changing it every 30,000 miles or 3 years.

We've seen many go bad. 60-90-120K. It varies, so... that's a greenie for TX!
