It hit another new high on Tuesday of $1,096 per ounce. You DID buy some when I recommended it earlier, didn't you? It was about $300 an ounce cheaper then. It's not too late. There's plenty of upside left and I'm STILL buying. I think it will more than double in price from here.

I buy bullion coins like Krugerand's, Canadian Maple Leaf's, or Chinese Panda's from my local coin dealer. It's easy.. He'll buy 'em back from me too, no questions asked when I'm ready. It's certainly better than my shrinking dollars.

Talking about gold. I don't want to sell any of mine. There is a lot of intrinsic value in a lot of it, some of the rings quite old with gems. Inherited in most cases.

So, when I saw the ads on TV whereby you gather up your old unwanted gold? Put it all in a fedex envelope and send it off to someone who wants to pay you for it for, they say, good return on your gold. I went into one of these stores in town to investigate. I took in a couple of my older rings, heavy gold, l8K, whatever. She was equipped with a scale and weighed it all in. I was to receive l4.00 for one ring and 22.00 for another. So I assume you really must have a great pile of gold jewellery in order to replicate the ads where the ladies are receiving hundreds and going shopping.

I don't need to sell it that bad. I rather like having it all and wearing it.

My point is, you are really immature/naive to think that they will give you anywhere near the going rate of almost $1100. Per oz.

Exactamundo. But, they pay whatever the buyer is willing to sell it for. That's why I only buy bullion coins. You pay a small premium when you buy them, which is the coin shops profit, and you suffer a slight discount when you sell 'em, which is again, the coin shops profit. The prices are published by the minute so there's NO guesswork. They're easy to deal with.

But, I must say that I cringe every time I'm in the coin shop and see a poor shlep in there with boxes of old coins... That guy is going to get taken for a ride... But, if he doesn't want to sell, he doesn't have to...
