The direction of rotation of 3-phase a.c Elctric motor can be reversed by interchanging any two phases eirher at terminals of motor or sipply mains

In addition, an example of what he said make RST change it to RTS and that will reverse the motor

    Best luck.

Many Davit and lift motors have wire numbers like(for 120 Volts) connect 1 and 3 together and then hook 2 and 4 together, then hook a 5 to the 1 and 3, and hook wire number 8 to the 2 and 4 for 1 direction, then to reverse direction, reverse the 5 and 8 wires. For 240 Volts, you still reverse the 5 and 8, but now the 1,3,2 and 4 wires will be in series instead of parallel.

A DC motor can be reversed by reversing the polarity.

Then there are PSC motors, stepper motors, fan motors, ECM motors etc.

    Your question in too vague.

    Some are not reverseable.

A three phase motor can be done by swapping over just two of the three three phases somewhere before it gets to the motor or in the terminal box (preferably before the terminal box as it is much easier)

Single phase motors that have a round shape attached to it (the capacitor) can be changed by swapping over the leads that go into the moot from the terminal box that are connected to the capacitor.

This is more difficult than in the three phase.

A single phase motor that you cannot see a capacitor on the side will 90% of the cases, NOT be able to be reversed.

You will, in the case of a motor with no capacitor and when you pull it apart you can see small copper rings on one side of each pole, will need to be pulled apart and put back together, pointing the other way for the motor to run in the other direction.
