    They form a bi layer as the phospholipid has to parts to its body, the head is made from the phosphate group so is soluble in water and the tail ismade from fats which are insoluble in water

    The bi layer arranges itself so that the hydrophobic tails are on the inside of the bi layer and the hydrophillic heads are in the liquid outside and inside the cell
