    Coleman Eletric Furnace Thermostat Wiring
I have a Coleman model 3500 electric furnace. The fan and heat/cool switchs are on the furnace. I am wanting to install a programmable thermostat and have the fan and heat/cool switches on the thermostat. There are only two wires going to the thermostat, I am going to pull out and replace these wires with a six wire. I have already bought the thermostat it is a Hunter Programmable model 44110. My question, does anyone know how to do this? If so please send me an wiring digrahm or tell me how to wire it the correct way.

    Thanks, Doyle

You have the old coleman switch on the furnace unit. This was done to prevent the A/C installer from having to pull new 5 or 7 wire cable to the thermostat location. There is a wiring diagram on the inside of the control box on your unit or I am posting a generic one here.

You will have to gut the controls you have now and rewire the whole shabang to make it work correctly. I can be of no further assistance but I wish you luck.
