How do I respond to MCR 2.602B (3)
My wife filed for divorce and I missed the court date. (I couldn't pull together to walk in the court room.) By default, a judgment was made. I do not agree with the financial aspect of the judgment. Is there a protocol or standard way to dispute? The judgement states "written judgment within 7 days."

    Hello Mike:

That's probably the time you have to appeal... You're going to need a lawyer.

In NYS "written Judgment within X days" simply notifies the parties that the Judge's decision will be reduced to writing within that time frame. Both parties then get a chance to review it for CORRECTNESS, not for purposes of appeal.

As Excon said - you are going to need an Attorney and I would be prepared to also pay your "ex's" legal expenses for this second round.
