How to bypass IP checking in local Cable Internet
    Hi all,
I am using cable net. It has its own dialer which requires username and password to login. My problem is, when I connect internet from the computer from which I started using cable net, it logs in and works fine but when I try to connect it on other computer, it says wrong password. I have legal username and password. Please note that I am not trying to connect internet on both PCs at same time, can anyone help me? In my opinion the dialer is checking IP of the second PC and when it conflicts it is not allowing me to connect. If this is the case, how can I bypass this check?

    Please Help

    Ali

You need to talk to your cable provider. They will explain what needs to be done. Its unlikely the account is keyed to an IP since you don't usually get an IP until you connect. You might check to see if the IP is hardcoded in the TCP/IP settings.

I'm a little confused, is the first computer still connected to your ISP when you attempt to connect with the second PC?
