I don't need my parents permission to get married. My wife's family didn't appreciate the eloping, but they were supportive afterwards.

If I was afraid of doing things for fear of upsetting others, then I'd never do anything.

That said, I guess it depends on what you want your relationship with your family to be in the future.

Deeptipankaj, are the caste differences insurmountable or is it just the parents' opinion? Is there an authority that can persuade the parents that this is permissible?
