A person caught performing pedophilia is more "juicy" news than someone who invited their wife on a business trip.

I'm not giving a pass to say, somebody like Sanford or Foley or Conduit or Spitzer etc.
But when you talk about corruption and the influence of money, lobbyists, tax cheats, why is it not a bigger deal.

If my local rep has an affair, it effects his or her spouse and family, and probably job performance. If my local rep wants to raise taxes and does not pay his or hers? If my local rep can get a below market mortgage interest, and we peasants have to have an immaculate credit report to get the best terms; does anybody not see the problem here.

In the healthcare field, physician groups as well as lawmakers have become much stricter regarding pharm reps - cannot even hand out pens anymore; yet Washington DC has a street for lobbyists. How hypocritical.

To me that's the biggest problem with your government setup - the corporations run the show based on the greed of your representatives for "free" money.

Its not only the corporations, but any special interest or pac. Don't forget the unions and the trial lawyers.
