    Feel Pressured!
    My question is my ex husband & I divorced 7 yrs. Ago,he signed over the house as deed of gift & also in the property settlement agreement.(Title is in my name) Both our names are still on the mortgage & my payments are all current,he keeps pressuring & threatening me to refinance... im not financially able to do that & do not want to sell,, can he make me?:confused:

    I would not be so quick to believe that he cannot force a sale. If he were to take this to civil court I venture to guess that he could raise action that would compel a sale.

    I would really speak with a lawyer familiar with real estate and divorce.

    Well he gave up all rights to the property,so I don't know? Thanks for responding;-)

    I know... that's where it gets hairy. First, that was pretty stupid of him. But there must be some sort of mechinism in place to protect him due to having no interest in the property.

    I could be wrong... but I believe I have heard cases where sales can be compelled. Do not quote me on it... which is why I think a legal professional in your state might be a worthy call to make.
