My kitties are fighting, what do I do?:(
I have two cats named sweetpea and azalea, and about two years ago I adopted another kitten. His name was guy.

Sweetpea adored the new kitten. But azalea was not pleased and stayed away.

Guy got bigger and when he got to be about azalea's size she would swat at him whenever he got near. Now guy is much bigger than azalea. She generally leaves him alone but if he gets close she will swat him and run away.

Often I leave on Friday nights and come back Sunday afternoons. My neighbor comes up to check on them and stuff. But this weekend when I came back Guy did not come out to see me, usually all of the cats come running out. So I snooped around to see where he was. He was squished under my sister's bed which was full of her junk. No matter what I did he would not come out. Even to bribes.

Eventually he came to lay with me in bed, this was when I could tell he wasn't feeling well. Azalea was hanging around in my room ignoring us.
When suddenly she ran over to my bed ran up on top of guy and hit him really hard on his head, hissed and ran away. I was shocked. So guy left my bed and went out to the living room I think he was kind of freaked out. I heard hissing and pounding and I ran out to see azalea standing about two feet away from him her body hunched like she had just pounced.

I am really confused. Why is azalea lashing out like this could it be because of guy's being sick? Does he smell strange to her? I'm going to take guy to the vet, should I take azalea too? I'm a little worried, it feels like something went down while I wasn't here. I don't know, any suggestions?:(

    TrioKIT,

You do have a problem. Sad to hear that your cats are not getting along. You didn't mention whether Guy had been fixed or not. Or the other cats. Unlike dogs, cats are sometimes very much a loner animal. If they are not raised together, they can be very aggressive with each other. They are very territorial. After 2 years, I would have assumed they would all be getting along by now. I do have to assume that all the cats have been fixed or spayed?? --- Ace

    Thank you Ace High

I did spay all three of the cats

Since you said that if they are not raised together they can be very aggressive towards each other maybe I should just let them have their bouts, or is there a way I could reintroduce them?

What's strange is that azalea has never gone after him before. She always just gave him a warning swat if he was the one who got too close. I don't know why her aggression towards him has grown so much just over this weekend.

I am so sad, this morning I was petting azalea, guy who had already been in the room, pricked up his fur and ran out but then azalea chased after him hissing and growling. He's obviously scared of her dominance but how do I level that out I don't want guy to live in fear of being hurt. (boohoo :( )

I watch him acting like a shadow towards
Sweetpea, Sweetpea with her motherly nature is most dominant I believe, so I think he's using her as a kind of bodyguard. Is this bad? Could azalea redirect her aggression towards sweetpea? I don't want that!

This was supposed to be an update and an answer to your questions ace but it ended up being more questions! :O
