Simplify

2x=-2

Divide both sides by 2

2x/2=-2/2

Simplify

X=-1

Now select one of the equations and plug in to solve for Y

(-1) + Y = -3

Y = -2

Double check your answer in BOTH equations

(-1) + (-2) = -3?? YES!

(-1) - (-2) = 1?? YES!

X = -1
Y = -2

x=8y-12
