    Is this a breaker problem?
My husband is replacing our light in the dining room. He turned the light switch off and removed the old light. While checking the wires in the ceiling, It made a loud poop sound.
Now, we have no power in that room or the next. He checked the breaker and says it's OK. But he is unable to get any power. What did he do and how can we fix it?

Turn the breaker Off & then back On. Breakers don't always trip to the Off position.

The noise you heard could be a splice that loosened, or a short circuit that caused a spliced to separate. The breaker may not have tripped. Some troubleshooting with a voltage tester is needed to find the fault.
