Hello my 3yr old boy used to always tell me what he wanted. After he was sick and has an ear infection with drainage he has be difficult. He does this temper tantrum thing where he throw things and does and (en, en) whine. Until I figure out what he wants. Help!! I don't know what is wrong.

So it has been a while since the ear infection is gone right? He isn't sick, unwell or teething? Sometimes they say that when a child is teething or sick that they continue the behavior of whining or crying afterward for sometime for no apparent reason or simply for attention.

Continue to ask him what he wants and encourage communication. If he doesn't want to verbally tell you then ask him to "show" you. At least you will still have some communication and the tantrums should minimize since more communication is open.

He will come out of it and he will begin to be the same little boy you had before his unfortunate and very painful ear infection... it will take time - hang in there!
