My daughter has a doge colt and the key will not turn in the ignition. We tried turning wheel, checked to make sure it was in gear but it just won't turn, any suggestions?

How old is the ignition/key

On most older cars, the key becomes worn and as such doesn't fit into the ignition switch as it should and therefore doesn't work/turn

The car is a 2002, she has only had it for about 6 months

Try removing the key and spraying the inside key slot with WD-40.

One or more keys? None work properley?
If the key isn't the factory original, you may have a poor "cut."
You could try obtaining an original replacement from your local dealer.
