Feed her sardines a day (oily ones). 2 for a pup of a medium sized breed.

Do NOT shampoo! Shampooing makes it a lot worse. The skin has to build up natural oils.

If the pup is not better after 10 days take her to a vet. There could be some medical problems there.

I have found that Head and Shoulders works wonders for a dogs dry skin.

If you are feeding any decent chow, the less else the dog gets to eat the better. Brush daily, and seldom if ever bathe the dog. Brushing is more pleasant for man and beast and controls odor very well. Our 14 year old Aster hasn't had a bath since she came back to live with us 4 years ago.

If you dog still has dry skin following the above, talk to the vet.

I missed that. I wonder how these people find these questions. I didn't answer it originally because I wasn't a member at the time. Some other sites close all the questions after a couple of weeks. Of course your question on whelping is still going, but you continue to have more questions as the puppies develop.

Yeah, I see it a lot, especially in "pregnancy & new motherhood".

I think it would be helpful for questions to be closed after "x" amount of time if there has been no activity... unlike mine, as like you said... I keep having questions lol

Getting ready to introduce puppy food this weekend, so I'm sure something will come up that I ask haha!
