Does the back up drain away after a few minutes? If so the drain line downstream of the washer and the floor drain is partially clogged. The floor drain should have a removable plug for better rodding, any other drain cleaning caps nearby?
I have removed the plug to try to snake there for better luck but can only go prob 15 feet. I don't see anything else down there. Would it be helpful to rent something more powerful? Could it be roots and if so would it be helpful to buy the root remover solution?
Muratic acid will eat anything, just be careful. Its dangerous chemicals
I can not advise enough against using muratic acid, or any acid, in a enclosed area such as a rest room strongly enough. As a young boy I would take limed up toilet bowls out in the alley behind the shop and boil the lime out of them. Over half a century later my lungs still carry the scar tissue that the acid fumes caused. A few years ago I lost a good friend when he used a commercial drain cleaner containing sulfuric acid in a unvented bathroom. Acid IS NOT A GOOD IDEA to use to clear mineral buildup. Take it from one who's paid the price. Regards, Tom
Why can't you go any farther then 15 feet? What if the clog's located 18 feet on down the line? What seems to be the problem? Please explain. Tom
