    Hi Neal...

    It sounds like you have a PUMP associated with this AEROBIC septic system. If this is the case, then it also sounds like the pump is stuck in the on position most likely because the FLOAT is stuck up on something or something similar to that anyway... ;)

    If this sounds about right I would have you start by checking the breaker system associated with the pump system. Shut it off and then reset the breaker... see if that makes a difference.

    Otherwise, I'm betting you will need to gain access to the pump system and check the float switch... ;)

    A aerobic septic simply means the bacteria uses oxygen to work where as a standard system, anaerobic, uses bacteria which needs no oxygen. Is your system pumping air and you heard the air pump or is it also using a lquid pump to move the liquids out to a field tile?

    Your system, (see image) must have air to operate correctly. You should have a timer with a 30 minute on and a 30 minute off setting. Check out your timer. Good luck, Tom
