From Copper to Blue Black or Chocolate Brown?
Okay, so I have an issue with choosing the correct color for me. My current hair color is lost somewhere in copper red.
My natural hair color is like a dusty brown with reddish tones in the light(wierd I know). BUT I want to dye my hair either BLUE BLACK OR a RICH CHOCOLATE brown. I usually do my own dying, but now I'm not sure if I should tackle this alone..
I was googling some things and I discovered an article on the head and shoulders website, which said that I have a warmer skin tone/eye color. They advised me to go lighter like orange or something garfield-ish? But I don't know which way to go or how to achieve these results, could someone save me from the "ginger kidd" island?

If you go lighter with a single-process color, you may get into the problem of the "ginger kid". However, blue black or chocolate brown are darker. You probably won't have any problems getting this color from a single-process hair dye. You may have a slight problem with excess red since your hair is copper red right now. Use an a dark ash brown if you go to the chocolate brown.

There's also a phrase, "If you dye it black, you can't go back." That's not quite true, but there's enough truth in it that you don't want to do it on a whim. If you dye your hair black and want to change it again, it will be difficult or impossible.
