    Slow filling cistern
My toilet is the push-button variety. Recently, the cistern takes about 30 minutes to fill after flushing. When I remove the cistern lid, the cistern is filling but water is spraying slightly from the joint that controls the level of water in the cistern.

I've now idea where the water comes into the cistern to fill it, or what's gone wrong.

Not a lot of information I know, but any help would be appreciated.

You're correct in assuming we need more informatiom. What type of ballcock do you have? A float ball on a rod or a can on a wire? Back to you, Tom

    Jonny,

You have a FluidMaster ballcock with a bad seal,(see image). What's happened is the hole in the neoprene seal that lets water into the tank has swelled shut and is cutting off the flow. To repair this problem, purchase a FluidMaster Seal #242, sahut the water off to the tank and remove the top of the ballcock,( I have put some images up to assist you) and pull the old seal out and replace it. Good luck, Tom
