    Couple of motor questions
Doing some diy repair work for the inlaws. They have an old Westinghouse furnace that fires, but the motor will not go, checked voltage and it does get 120v when it gets hot enough to call for the blower.

    1. We got the blower assembly out, and of course can't get the shaft out of the squirrel cage, used liquid wrench and some tapping to no avail yet... any other suggestions?

    2. As far as replacement motors go, it has a few different numbers on it, and they are the following:
    GE
    MOD 5sp39mg 61268AT
    1050 rpm
    9 amp
    1/4 horse
    Stock # 3971

Unfortunately, I don't have the motor here to look at, and should have got a shaft length off it, but its pretty long.

    Thanks for any help.

Hold the motor shaft wirh adjustable wrench on flat then slowly spin squirrel cage fan bach and forth while applying upward pressure. A very clean shaft and wd-40 works well. If shaft real dirty use crocus cloth/fine sandpaper strip to clean shaft. I have removed many using this procedure.

PS Make sure the set crews are removed that attach the wheel to shaft.
