First locate the pressure control box. This will be a small 1 1/2" by 2 1/12" gray box the pump wires connect to.
I'm going to assume that you have a "square D pumptrol and that it has a 20 PSI cut in and a 40 PSI cut off setting,. First turnoff the power at the breaker box, then pull the cover off the pressure switch and you will see two spring loaded bolts secured with nylon nuts. One tall, one short. To increase the cut in pressure, turn the nut on the tall bolt down. To increase the cut out pressure,(that's the one that will give you more pressure) turn the nut on the short bolt down. This should give you the additional preesure you desire. Good luck, Tom

Hi. Im trying to increase my pressure too. Ive located the Box mentioned but mine only has 1 spring. It is a pumptol.

You piggybacked on a five year old thread so I gave you your own.
I've never seen a Square "D" Pumptrol ,(see image) with only one spring to adjust. Could you take a picture? Is this a new control? How about a model number?

    Type FTG 9

    It's a Pupmtrol Square D

    That's all I could find.

Sorry for the huge image. Lol

Supa, I had no luck finding any reference to your switch on the web. If I was you, I would tighten the one nut you have. It's bound to increase both the cut in and cut out pressures. In the case of switches with two nuts, the larger center nut has that effect. A new switch can be had for about 20 bucks, and installation is not difficult, in case you want to go that route.
