Our two year old Pit-Terrier, who is house broken and has had a rare few accidents, is now continually urinating and releasing her bowels in our living room at night time. We are letting her out constantly during the day and evening until bedtime. I have tried changing her feeding times to see if that works. We pull up her water at dinner time. I am at a loss and becoming very frustrated. We love her with all our heart, but I can't have her using our living room carpet as her bathroom. Please, someone, help with some good advice??

New dogs, new people, changed working hours etc.

Yes, she is perfectly healthy and nothing has changed at home, other than my son going back to school in September. However, I am a stay at home Mom, so I am here with her unless I run to the store, errands, etc.

Usually when a dog starts this behaviour it is because of a changed circumstance, they almost seem to 'rebel' because of the change.

You could try using puppy pads, it doesn't fix the issue but it does make clean-up easier. ;)

I'm actually working with a similar issue at the moment with one of my own, I will take them out to potty before bed then I jump in the shower.
By the time I am out of the shower my girl has pooped on my clothes!!
She thinks she is being 'clean' by actually pooping on something instead of the floor, but by gosh it is a pain!

Does she tend to go in the same spots all the time or is it just in random places in the living room?

With mine I tried to eliminate anything she could poop on and it fixed the problem.

Another alternative that might seem like a pain but hopefully will get her back into the right habit is to walk her late at night... even if it is just laps of your backyard on leash.
I swear mine hold everything in just do they can go potty on their afternoon walks (I swear it's just so I have to use the poop bags provided at the park :rolleyes: )
