Instead of a specific case of which I ask if what I've done will eliminate me from becoming a cop in Canada(RCMP), what is a criminal act that would prevent you from becoming a cop. What is too much?

    Hello J:

I don't know for sure, but I'd say if you committed a felony, you're not going to be a cop. If it was a misdemeanor, then you have a shot.

It also probably depends on the places some are more strict then others. A drug,dv or theft conviction might disqualify you. Five to ten years of staying out of trouble can help you.

If it is a felony no there is no chance for any of the police force.
Also remember there will be maybe 100 applications for any one opening with the RCMP so perhaps a goal for another department may be better
