What does furtherance justice mean?
Hello l:
It's what a judge would say when he's making a ruling.

Agree who or how is it being used, I could see the leader of a linch mob saying it, after they hang someone because he was found not guilty in court, ( they would think that they did bring justice to the crime)
It's furtherance OF justice, by the way.
On my background check there was furtherance of justice on there.what does that mean?thank u
Was it related to a crime you were convicted of and the sentence ?

Hello again, l:
It's like I said above. The judge COULD have sentenced you to CONSECUTIVE sentences... He didn't think you deserved it, though, so "in furtherance of justice", he sentenced you to CONCURRENT sentences...
The judge is supposed to seek justice. He thinks he did, and said so in his sentencing documents. I don't know WHY background services are reporting those words, but it makes no MATERIAL difference in your background.
