    Johnson-lennox no liting
I live in a condo built in the 70's... I have a Johnson Corporation out of Bellevue Ohio

    Model: 60HWC24
    Serial : AE27H41933
    Btu/hr: 48000

Forced air furnace with cooling unit- I get spark and pilot, pilot lites... heat up sensor but will not light.

I tested the limit switch... removed 1 wire and pilot lite went out.
Replaced flame sensor - 2 weeks ago
Replaced combustion blower relay last year.

Furnace worked last year... didn't get great heat but worked

This year I took apart the burner tubes and cleaned and vacuumed inlets.
Just can't get the thing to start... Thanks in advance... QRK

I believe this unit was made by Magic Chef Corp for Johnson.

First with all the work you have done the one thing you did not mention was testing the gas valve. You need to check to see if power is available to the gas valve when the burner should be on. If voltage present then the gas valve is not opening and the valve is bad. If voltage not present then you will have to track back to see why.

I have 24 v to MV... how do I test the coil...
I took the coil off and the piston in the gas valve appears to be fine.

If you have 24 volts to the gas valve when the unit is supposed to be heating and the valve does not open then the gas valve is defective. If you do not have the 24 volts then you have to trace the circuit back to find why.
Note: You never disassemble a gas valve since no user serviceable parts are available. The gas valve is replaced as an assembly only.
