Fuel oil furnace will not come on.
    Hello,
I have an oil furnace.I cannot get it to come on.I checked both the feed line and return line and found no resistance when I blew into them.I am not getting any fuel to the pump. When I push the reset button on the unit, it will run 5 to 10 sec. and shut off. There is fuel in the tank and the filter and nozzle has been changed. Can any one please help me with this issue.

Besides having to bleed the pump to remove all air you might have a leak in the line be it ever so small. When the pump runs and is trying to suck oil to the pump it might be sucking air instead. A very very small leak will do this. Oil filters are known to be a leak source also. They have gaskets etc that if not installed correctly will cause a air leak also.

Another possibility is a weak or defective pump.

    Good luck with your project.
