    SS benefits
I have a step daughter who's biological father passed away 7 months before her 18th birthday. She received SS up until she turned 18 then it stopped. Now mind you he never paid shild support because the mother never forced the issue because she had me to carry the load which I didn't mind cause I raised her since birth up until she was 14 when me and her mother separated and divorced. Now my stepdaughter is a fulltime college is she still eligible for some type SS at least until she finishes school or something please somebody with knowledge on this subject please help me.

No, SS is granted by age, not by need.

Concerning children who are students the law says: "If your child is a student
Three months before your child's 18th birthday, we will send you a notice that benefits will end at age 18 unless your child is a full-time student at a secondary ( or elementary) school. If your child is younger than 19 and still attending a secondary or elementary school, he or she must notify us by completing a statement of attendance that has been certified by a school official. The benefits then will usually continue until he or she graduates, or until two months after reaching age 19, whichever comes first. "

As Judy pointed out, no she is not able to continue receiving benefits. What she can do is take out student loans, get a job, get as many scholarships and grants as possible like the rest of us did. Trust me I know, I went to a private school all on my dime (I will be paying till I see a pink and green stripped pig fly past my window) but I am proof that it can be done... so is my brother and he continued on to grad school at RUSH.
