    5 Individually-Controlled Lights on Single 15A Circuit
I need to put 5 overhead lights (nonrecessed, 75W max each) on a single 15A circuit, each light controlled with its own single pole switch. In past I have wired overheads by bringing power from a J-box to light and putting switch at end-of-run but this is, of course, different. To do this as simply as possible, could I:
    1. Homerun to can1, can1 to can2, can2 to can3, etc. (brings power separately to each light),
    2. pigtail at each can,
    3. connect switch at each pigtail, essentially putting each swich at end-of-run for each
    Light?

I would bring power into and out of each switch box. Then run a switch leg up to each fixture.

Assume I would still pig-tail it at each box and run switch leg off that? Basically same as my question only through switch?

    Power, light to light.

IDEAL INDUSTRIES, INC. - Term-A-Nut Twist-on Pigtail Wire Connector These make the job really easy.

Do a white/black/green pigtail and use a ground wire with a fork terminal.

If your planning at some point in the future to use any home automation controls that requre a neutral in the switch box, run 14/3 for the switch loop. You can tie the neutral in the lamp, but cap it at the switchplate.

Use red and black for the switch loop. Red ties to black at the lamp and black becomes switched power to the lamp.

Yeah - was thinking about running 14/3 to support a ceiling fan/light combo or such. Thanks!
