We have a well and are wondering if it might be the well pump?

Do all of your faucets and spigots spit? Is there an aerator on this faucet?

Does this happen on both the hot and cold water. The water heater has an anoide in it that sometimes puts off a gas and this gass will build up and spit at you when you open a faucet. It is usually only a small amount and only does it when you have not used the water in a long time.

So if it only does it on the hot water I would say that is your problem. You can buy different aniode rods that are not suppose to do theis.
