Why isn't my house warming up?
Hi. I am new to this forum. I am also new to having a heat pump. My husband and I live in his grandparent's house to keep it from falling apart because his grandpa has passed on and his grandma is living in a nursing home. It has been chili out now for two days and we want it to be around 70-73. It has yet to stay warm in here. The heat pump has been working constantly now for two days. I suppose I should mention that the pump is located in the basement that is not insulated very well. We do not want a high electric bill. Is there anything that we should do to keep it from running constantly?

A heat pump sized properly should keep your home warm but eventually you will see the electric heater kick on. I suggest that since you have no idea when the unit was serviced last now is a good time before the real cold weather hits.

Thank you. You're right. I have no clue when it was serviced last. We did have to get the AC serviced back in January. I just found out it's supposed to get even colder tonight.
